I happened to get ORA-12541:TNS:no listener error while trying to a new database.
Rootcause : This error happens when the listener for the destination server is down or unreachable or it can be due to listener not being started or being incorrectly configured.
Check the TNSNAMES.ORA file for the new database and service name. Sometimes even if we are having the correct entry in TNSNAMES.ORA it will still give us the listener error, now put the database entry in SQLNET.ORA file .
